I recall some dreadful weather when living in Yesnaby, then the snow stopped, I climbed out of the window on the side the wind hadn’t piled the snow and without any wind that day, the sun shone on everything so beautifully. If only I had a camera back then, but that my mind has it all stored up.
Memories are so important. In some ways they can be better than photos, though photos can also provide a good trigger for them.
I totally agree, but also the other senses are triggers. I recall the beloved one who cared for me I called “Aunty” each time I smell Lily-of-the-valley.
Oh yes, smell/scent is probably one of the strongest triggers.
