Safe For Swimming – Flags and Patterns On the Beach

I liked the bright red and yellow flags on Aberavon Beach when taking this week’s walk there. They denote an area where it is safe to swim but I don’t think the child in this picture, walking determinedly up the beach, had been swimming.

What the Sea Brings In and What the Sea Takes Away

This sandcastle may not be sustainable, even though it is build on rocks but while walking about on the beaches on our holiday in south west Scotland was mostly a clean experience, one day the sea brought in some mucky looking foam.

Frost and Ice – Surface Texture

I was amazed by the patterns and textures created by the embedded Autumn leaves in the frost and ice formed on the surface of the urban lake I walked around over New Year.
