The marsh water beside the lake at Llyn Llech Owain in Carmarthenshire, Wales, was almost like glass when this shot was taken. The reflection of grass and clouds in its surface is only distorted by the slightest of movements on a cold Winter day.

The early morning light on Penarth Pier is not so unusual but the mixture of colours in the sky looking out from Penarth seafront towards Flat Holm and Sleep Holm Islands in the Bristol Channel did strike me as quite weird.
The blades disappeared into the cloud and it was difficult to see even the nearest of these wind turbines through the wind and rain. Whatever you think of wind turbines, you would have had difficulty seeing the Bettws Wind Farm on top the Mawr in weather conditions like this.
Rocks and villages – I love the way the scattering of rocks in this Gower landscape seem to reflect the scattering of buildings in the village beyond.
The view is from the top of Rhossili Down looking north west across the Loughor Estuary towards Carmarthenshire. The weather is fine (at this point) and I am enjoying a beautiful production walk for a StillWalks video which, as yet, I have not managed to complete!

The source of yesterday’s pool of light on water – the sun, the clouds, the weather never ceases to amaze me!
It is always exciting to see the sun breaking through the clouds and in this case creating a pool of gold on the sea.
Last week I was posting photos of the early morning light at Easter in Scotland. This week the photos are about the light as the end of the day approaches.
I like both these shots of the same scene in Wigtown Bay in Galloway, SW Scotland. There was five minutes time between each shot and although the pool of reflected sunlight is still there in the second image, other conditions were changing rapidly.
