Less is More

I’m back, but with fewer photos and fewer posts – that is my intention anyway!

About a year ago I started posting more frequently because I like doing it and I wanted to show what was going on with StillWalks other than what was being done for video production. I also wanted to present sets or series of photos because that is the way the StillWalks videos work.

However, for the time being, I will be posting fewer images and less often. Different images and sound clips may also be spread across other social media – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr and SoundCloud.

I will also continue to feature individual StillWalks videos from time to time. The current featured video will be the last for Autumn this year and can be seen at the end of this post. Just click the image to play the video.

Building Blocks on the Beach

The beach at Llanelli is not all patterns in the sand (see yesterday), there are also many patterns in the stones.

Stones? I don’t think that is quite the correct description! Bricks, metal, clinker, copper and parts of walls would be a more accurate description.

Swansea, on the far side of the Gower Peninsula, used to be known as Copperopolis. In the early 1800s 90% of all the copper-smelting capacity of Britain was based within twenty miles of the city, and it seems there is still evidence of this on the beach in the Millennium Park at Llanelli.

There are more photos of these fascinating objects on the StillWalks Flickr Photostream – all taken on my iPhone.

Spring Interlude

OK I cheated – it’s not a spring as such and neither is it anything to do with the season but then, that’s why it is an interlude 😉

My daughter has her Foundation Art year show coming up next week and she has been using all sorts of things throughout the year. This copper wire has been sitting on our copper coloured coffee table for a while and when she goes off to uni next September, I know I am going to miss her – especially as that will be both our girls gone.

You can see (and follow) her blogs here and here and you can see more of these copper wire photos on my Flickr site which I have not posted to for some time.
