Crooked Woodland

Whether there is snow or not this year, this is be a popular place for people to walk on Boxing Day. The footpath round Lliw Lower Reservoir features in my Winter Reservoir Walk, part of the StillWalks at Lliw Reservoir collection available on request or at the reservoir cafe.

The video is featured below, so if you don’t want to go out if it is pouring rain again . . .

We don’t often get snow where I live but now and then it comes and changes the landscape. These shots are from a production walk I did two years ago. This week I am looking at images that I used in the video and some that I didn’t – almost all the photos I have picked out have different crops to those in the video.

Part of the Landscape

Rocks and villages – I love the way the scattering of rocks in this Gower landscape seem to reflect the scattering of buildings in the village beyond.

The view is from the top of Rhossili Down looking north west across the Loughor Estuary towards Carmarthenshire. The weather is fine (at this point) and I am enjoying a beautiful production walk for a StillWalks video which, as yet, I have not managed to complete!

At the End of the Walk

I often view this scene from the other side of the valley, on top of the hills. This view, on a sunny Autumn day, is from the end of my production walk through the woods I have featured in my posts throughout the past week.

The walk started soon after sunrise and this view was taken mid afternoon. I look forward to working on the post-production for the StillWalks video which will include some of the images I have posted .

Foreground and Background – What’s the Story

They say a good photo should tell a story. I like the story these images tell me but what story do they tell you?

They are just one chapter in the story of images I am presenting this week from Sunday to Sunday. They were taken as part of a StillWalks production day but as yet I have not had a chance to take this much further.

Celebrating Dylan Thomas

In celebration of the centenary of the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, I thought I would post a second time today with a link to my StillWalks video “Cwmdonkin Walk – Autumn”. The park in Swansea was a significant feature in Dylan’s life and has seen some notable improvements in the last year to celebrate his centenary.

I have upgraded the normal sample version of the video to the full length at a higher resolution and hope that you will enjoy it as much as those people using it on a daily basis.

iPhonography at Lliw Reservoir

Some alternative iPhone shots of Lliw Lower Reservoir. Having finished the new video collection, “StillWalks at Lliw Reservoir“, I recently had a walk there and did some iPhonography at the same time.

The photos were taken using the ProCamera app and edited in the PhotoshopExpress app on the phone and have also been posted on Instagram and EyeEm.
