Suspended from a Spire

This relatively small suspension bridge in Swansea does not look so small as it sticks out like a spire amongst the buildings around.

Windsor – A Place to Visit

I didn’t know what to expect when I visited Windsor. The only thing I knew about the place was that Windsor Castle is there. However, there is more to it than that and even on a dull day, it is an attractive place to walk around., have a cup of tea and see the swans on the River Thames.

Architecture – Victorian Footbridge, Swansea

This is going to be a StillWalks week of architecture! Starting with the old, these images are of the remains of the footbridge by Victoria Park, St Helens in Swansea. The bridge itself was dismantled for safety a few years ago but I am pleased that the steps have been left as I find it an attractive structure.

I may be behind with my post production (see note below re featured videos), but that does not mean I am not always looking out for new locations for StillWalks videos. Swansea beach, seafront and marina are all locations I would like to use and in time I expect I will manage it. For now, however, I will continue to keep my eyes and ears open to the possibilities for StillWalks in all kinds of environment – man made as well as natural.

I have a number of productions to complete and I look forward to adding these to the StillWalks collection. For now there is, as always, access to sample length videos is available through the Walks menus and you can always buy them at anytime for as little as £1.50.

Bridging the Gap – Reflections on Time

It is a few years now since I was last in Belfast but the images I am posting this week from my StillWalks video “City Walk” still stand as a fair representation of Belfast on Boxing Day in Northern Ireland.

Over the years the city has changed as any city does with new architectural developments. There are, however, aspects of all cities that remain for longer and in doing so help to set the character of the place. One such spot in Belfast for me is the Albert Bridge. Being next to Central Station, it was the starting point for visiting the city on foot and in my case, walking to college.

A Different Viewpoint – Millennium Bridge, Swansea

The Millennium foot and cycle bridge is an attractive piece of architecture in Swansea and can bee seen from one side of the River Tawe against the backdrop of the modern development of SA1 and from the other side, against Swansea’s Maritime Quarter and the rigging of sailing boats in the marina.

You can find any number of photographs of the bridge if you Google it – perhaps these are one or two new viewpoints even if they don’t show the identifiable suspension structure.
