Evening in the Park

By the time I took these photos on my iPhone on my way back home from Coedbach Park the Blackbirds had stopped singing to each other.

Unique circumstances – I am sorry I didn’t record them – there are so many of them in the park and the breeze was blowing the sound of motorway traffic out to sea so it could hardly be heard at all – like I always say, “the circumstances of what we see and here are always unique to the time and place!”

Waterfalling Again – Melincwrt Waterfall

Our South Wales Valleys waterfall tour (see previous posts this week) also took us to Melincwrt Waterfall. A popular and easily accessible waterfall near Resolven on the A465, it was fairly gentle when we visited as the weather had been relatively dry. We were told we must visit again after a period of rain – shouldn’t be too long waiting then!

Some of these photos are available for sale at the StillWalks PhotoShelter site.

Galloway Sunset

A sunset is a sunset and yet they are all unique. Even in the same place, each night its is different and never fails to move me.

Two more from the StillWalk “Coastal Walk, Evening” which you can see on the  Spring Walks page.

Watching the Sun Set

Looking South might have been another title for this post. That is not necessarily the direction these sentinels are looking but they are in Scotland where we had hoped to be this last Easter.

These are two more from that StillWalk Coastal Walk, Evening which you can see on the  Spring Walks page.

Going North in Spring

This year we missed our usual trip north to Scotland and the other day I overheard the sound of Oystercatchers on one of my StillWalks videos playing in the background. It emphasised the loss of not getting to where they had been recorded.

At least I have the StillWalk to watch and listen to. Here are a couple of images from it. The video can be viewed on the Spring Walks page.

Tangled and Mangled

The effects of yesterdays dreich morning can be seen in that old freezer I have been photographing recently. The wet metal reflects the weather we had at the start of the day which created new colours and patterns only seen in these conditions.

And the sounds this can make? I continued working with them and here are a couple of experimental mixes. Next week I will try to explain some of my use of metal . . . watch this space!

You can click the mp3 files below or play the SoundCloud files which only appear on the blog page, not in an email. Ideally you would listen to these through headphone but it’s no big deal.
