Sea and Wind – Reviewing the Week

So our holiday in south west Scotland may not have had the best of the Summer weather but the sea and wind soundscape below holds good memories for me.

With the wild weather and the wildlife and the wonderful walks, the fact that there was not so much sun does not matter to me. Continue reading

Reviewing the Walk and the Week

My walk this week has been taken in two ways – the exploration of Llansteffan Castle and the migration of the StillWalks blog and website. I hope that you have both enjoyed this walk and will continue to enjoy both the weekly walks and other developing aspects of StillWalks.

The sound clip below is a re-posting of the clip I included earlier in the week as I did not have the material to produce a soundscape for this walk. That will have to remain for a full production walk later in the year. In the meantime you can view the images in sequence and listen to the clip at the same time.

Flower Cycle and Reviewing the Week

My last flower of this week is not one from our garden, though I look forward to the tulips opening outside our studio.

Appropriately, as we end the week, these bought tulips are at the end of their cycle. They are no less beautiful for their age though, and I am often attracted by dying flowers with their colour changes and withering patterns.

Constructing the Changes and Reviewing the Week

This may seem an odd image with which to end my walk this week but it is a fact that new building is constant. Fortunately I am still able to rise above it (literally) by walking higher up the hill from which the residents of these houses regularly get to enjoy beautiful sunsets.

My short soundscape this week reflects all aspects of the walk. Listen to it while viewing my selection of the images I’ve posted through the week.

Canal Walk and Reviewing the Week

Looking back at my walk this week along Swansea Canal at Clydach, I hope you can enjoy both the images and the short soundscape. The work that Swansea Canal Society are doing to maintain and restore this beautiful waterway is well worth it and it is clear that many people enjoy and benefit from it.

Play the soundscape below and enjoy my selection of images from through the week as you listen.

Winter Walk Soundscape – Reviewing the Week

Crossing the dam at Lower Lliw Reservoir ends my walk this week. I have made a selection of the photos posted through the week which you could view while listening to a short soundscape of the walk. The full production video for this walk is about twice the length at nine minutes and is a part of the StillWalks at Lliw collection.

The StillWalks at Lliw collection is available here to buy as a download or on disc.

Closing the Gate and Reviewing the Week 60

My walk this week followed a track up a local hill, Graig Fawr. It is my intention to produce a StillWalks video from the photos and field recording I did on the walk. Below is a selection of images from this weeks posts about this walk as well as a short soundscape of some aural aspects of the walk.

To see all the photos and I have posted about this walk, you will need to look at the individual posts.
