Riding in the Rain

And the rain came down! What more can I say. My equestrian photography at the weekend was shortened by the weather. The morning Dressage show was cancelled but they were able to go ahead with the jumping in the afternoon. Forunately it wasn’t like this for more than a few minutes but during that time, everyone got soaked!

      • 🙂 I have tried so many times to take a photo in a pouring rain only for it to come out as it was barely drizzling that I am amazed at how “rainy” yours looks 😉 Admittedly I only used a bog standard camera but still!

        • I was using a 70-300 mm lens on a fast shutter and high ISO for the horse movement but I still think it was chance that I managed to “freeze” the rain as well. We must accept our good luck happily when we get it 🙂

          • Love the whole StillWalks idea 🙂 Have you done any of them at horse shows (I’ve seen the galleries on your website but it’s all just photos not actual StillWalks videos unless I am looking at the wrong place)?

          • Take a look at the Show Walk in the Summer http://stillwalks.wordpress.com/walks/summer/show-walk/

It is from our local agricultural show and includes jumping. I have often wondered about the possibility of doing a StillWalk from a rider’s perspective – the trick would be to get the elevation without being on a horse. If you’re interested, just say. Btw the full length StillWalks videos will be replaced with samples soon.

          • Thank you I will have a look!
I’ve watched some of the walks and thought it would be really interesting to show some aspects of learning to ride this way. I am working on a video project for my Aspire Academy but after watching your videos-photos I had an idea for showing some aspects of learning to ride process…I will email 🙂
