StillWalks – Lakeside Walk

Here is the video then, if you have not already watched it – Lakeside Walk.

Switch off your phone, put everything else aside and relax for 6.5 minutes to the sights and sounds of a walk alongside the lake at the National Botanic Garden of Wales.

Lillies on the Pond

Moving further along on the Lakeside Walk at the National Botanic Garden of Wales.

This walk was a sunny one but we have been there in all weathers and enjoyed the gardens and the biggest single span glasshouse in the world.

It is very attractive to photographers, amateur and professional alike, and whilst there must have been thousands of photographs taken of the plants and other aspects of the gardens, when you take your own they are yours; and if you are anything like me, you will take photos of the same things again and again and never get tired of it 🙂

Lakeside Walk

Over the next week I am mostly going to be looking at the National Botanic Garden of Wales or to be more precise, the StillWalks I have produced there.

This is the first of a selection of nine images from the Lakeside Walk and is available through Photo Sales.

If you are not living in Wales, then this would be one amongst many reasons to visit. If you do live in Wales and have not yet visited the gardens, then it’s about time you did 😉

Show Time

Actually it’s not show time yet, not for the Pontarddulais Show anyway – that happens at the end of August and we have the Carnival before that in June.

I have put up this StillWalks video and photos because it was the starting point for the equestrian photography which I am doing again this year for Clydach Riding Club.

Here’s looking forward to a good Summer with fingers crossed.

Windy Walk, Dorset

Not everybody likes the wind but I, personally, don’t have a problem with it – I even like it on occasion.

This StillWalk takes place on a very windy hillside in Dorset, S.W. England. There is not much more sound in it than the wind!

What am I saying, of course there is – my footsteps walking through grass or on a lane, opening and closing gates, climbing over stiles – and of course the wind sounds themselves change with its strength, the kind of trees around, my position in relation to it and the landscape.

Who likes the wind? Watch the video below and click on the photo to enlarge.

Dorset Trees

Dorset

This is where I will be today – a windy(?) Dorset. I took this a while back now and it was a dull and very windy day.

It is a very “English” landscape, quite painterly!
