My Walk this Week – Past Walks 2, Forest

Dappled sunlight

This is the second week of six where I am looking back at walks I have taken in the past, this one features a much loved forest woodland which I have enjoyed many, many times and in all seasonal conditions. My walk this week focuses on images I took in May 2010 before I had my Canon DSLR cameras. Continue reading

My Walk this Week – Signs of an Elephant

Over the next six weeks “My Walk this Week” will be describing selected walks I have taken in the past. For this week I am looking back at a walk I called Ditch Hikers Walk and produced as a StillWalks video. The walk is located at Skanda Vale in Carmarthenshire and does not feature an elephant, Continue reading

My Walk this Week – A Carmarthenshire Lake

I decided to give this walk the title of “A Carmarthenshire Lake” because apart from giving its rough location, I thought it would be easier for people to pronounce than the name of the lake and park itself – Llyn Llech Owain. My Walk this Week – Weather on The Mawr

Mist on The Mawr

My walk this week is on the Swansea Uplands again. The weather on The Mawr (pronounced the same as “power”) can be unpredictable, but at least you can be sure that it is unpredictable! Crossing the area on my way home from an unproductive production day, I stopped in a small lay-by and took a walk up the hill to my left. It wasn’t raining or snowing at the time – in fact it had cleared quite nicely and I could see a vague track going straight upwards towards a half hidden way marker.

My Walk this Week – Valley Walks 3, Storm Doris

Trees in wind

My walk this week is the third of my walks on consecutive days in my local valley, Cwm Dulais. Where the previous day was misty, this walk was windy – in fact I did this walk on the day of Storm Doris. We did not have the strength of wind that some other parts of the country received but it was notable all the same.

The most interesting aspect of the walk was the sound and how it changed at different stages of the walk – see (listen) below.
