Forest Sounds – Reviewing the Walk

The images I have selected to review my walk this week are from three separate walks in a local woodland. Tow of these were sunny and quiet, one was more windy.

Forest Walk

The peaceful forest was quiet in comparison to the place on a windy day, but that does not mean there was not plenty to be heard, not by a long chalk. Continue reading

In the Pink and Green

Summer walks in the woods reveal the pink flowers and the green grass in sunlight.

While there is plenty of shade under the trees – indeed the forest is often darker than usual because of the density to foliage – there are also pockets or glades of sunlight picking out the Continue reading

Wildflowers – Selected Favourites

The wildflowers I have been posting images about this week were all photographed within a half mile along this coastal track in south west Scotland.

These are some of the yellow wild flowers I photographed on a short walk while on holiday – there are so many! Again, I have tried to name all of them but there is one name missing. Continue reading

A Week of Wildflowers

On one of the short walks I took while away in Scotland recently I made a point of looking out for and photographing the various wildflowers along my route on the shore.

Wildflowers - Honeysuckle

It was June and so I suppose they were to be expected but when you start looking out for them, it is still amazing just how many there are. Continue reading

Beauty and the Beast

Thistle and bee

It could be said that the image above, taken on my return from the salt marsh to the park on this my sixth and final walk from the past, depicts a beauty and a beast. However, while the beauty the post title refers to could be said to be the thistle or any of the natural environment of this walk, the reference to the beast Continue reading
