Looking back at a year of walks through my local forest, today takes me to February when there was fog and frost and fungi to be seen on my early morning walks.
The sound of footsteps on frosty leaves is different to that of dry crunchy Autumn leaves – at least that is my opinion based on the recording below made on my iPhone and in the specific conditions at the time. Those conditions are always slightly different on each walk taken and so it is difficult to say for sure that you wouldn’t get a sound very similar to this from dry leaves – it depends partly on how fine tuned your sense of hearing is.

I love the photos of the trees. It’s like being transported to another world. And the sound of the crunching leaves bring it to life.
Thanks Allysse. There’s nothing like crunchy leaves whether it’s frost or dryness. Very pleased you enjoyed the post.
