My walk this week is around Sunbury-on-Thames walled garden. It is just a few minutes down the river from Hampton Court where my walk took place last week.
I was lucky with the weather and thoroughly enjoyed both these recent walks. The reason I was there was not for walking but to discuss the arrangements for an exhibition of my tapestry weaving and sound work to be held in the Sunbury Embroidery Gallery next year.
The Gallery is situated in the walled garden and houses the Sunbury Millennium Embroidery, hence the name. The gallery displays this very impressive embroidery but also exhibits other art work. Following a visit by the gallery curators in 2018/19 to the British Tapestry Group exhibition “Sound and Weave”, in which I had an audio interactive tapestry, I was invited to show that work and more at Sunbury Gallery in 2020. The gallery has a strong connection with the disabled, including the visually impaired, and the combination of texture, sound and interactivity is perhaps the reason for taking an interest in my work. Sunbury Gardens Soundscape
My walk around the walled garden, listening to the various sounds of people, water, birds, gates and in particular the parakeets that are now so common in the area; beside the colours and textures of the plants, trees and flowers, these sounds will supply me with an exciting approach to workshops I will run alongside the exhibition.

A good description for Cindy. Thank you. There were many people there that day enjoying it in just that way. People having picnics, cafe and gallery visitors, families, children playing hide and seek. It was indeed a beautiful Eden.
